Hi team,

 

Is there a chance of document getting locked if we update the template/add new template field.

Yes, documents get locked when their fields are modified. The lock is released when the changes are saved.

On the other hand, if you are modifying the template definition itself - like adding a field to it - that doesn't lock documents that happen to have the template assigned.
