Quickfields has an option to create temp files under Advanced. If configured it creates .tmp files. What information is stored in these files and what would it be useful for?

Quickfields .tmp files, what is in them?

I'm not really sure what you're referring to. Quick Fields has an option for setting a location for temporary documents. These files exported out of Laserfiche through Capture Engine, pages extracted from PDFs and other things like that.
The customer was finding TIFF and TMP files in the directory after setting this up and was asking what data the TMP files consisted of.
The tiff files are likely images for documents still in the session. TMP files are used while extracting images from PDFs and other similar operations. They're usually deleted once the process is complete. It is possible that if Quick Fields crashed, the .tmp file is left around.
Ok I got a little more information. It seems that the QF Executable might have crashed, since there is files left sitting in this folder but also because they noticed that nothing was existing in the revision pane after scanning. The scan configuration is set to delete the files ONLY after a successful scan but the files are gone and the revision pane is empty.
They expect the TIFF images in this directory might be the files they lost, but they happened to have metadata in the file name and the TIFF files in this directory all have system generated names. Maybe the TMP files contain the original file name? I am not sure if anything can be done here.
