Question

hidden repository folders

asked on October 23, 2019

Is it possible to hide a folder within a repository?  I have "lost" a folder in my repository, but when I search for records by specific metadata the records are still accessible.  If I try to create a new folder with the same name the message shown below.

I am stumped.

Yes, you can use entry security to prevent a user from seeing an entry. Administrative accounts are typically exempt from this (because you need to see something in order to set its security), so you might check with your administrator to see if the folder is visible to them.

Thank you for the quick response Brian.  It turned out that since I already had a windows account for the repository I was migrating files I thought that having the domain account specified in my Repository User account in the same repository was redundant and removed it and that's what caused the issue with me not being able to see the specific folder even though I was part of the administrators's group and the system administrator's group.  Who knew?
