Resolve Error with LFConnector - "The hook procedure is not installed"

asked on October 21, 2019

I've been getting this error message for a week now when trying to start LFConnector (including when it starts upon PC boot.

Error message: "The hook procedure is not installed"

Uninstalling and reinstalling LFConnector did not resolve the issue.

I've searched support.laserfiche.com and answers.laserfiche.com without success.

Has anyone experienced this issue before and/or know a resolution?

This may be helpful to others in the future, but we figured it out.

The Federal Reserve Bank had required me to install some authentication software (called SafeNet) to access their systems - that was causing the problem.  It installed something in the background that even killing the SafeNet process didn't resolve, I had to fully uninstall it to resolve the issue.

This uninstall actually resolved several issues - this was not only breaking LFConnector, but was also preventing our VAR from using GoTo Assist to connect to my machine (the VAR was the one that suggested that SafeNet was to blame) and it was also causing my computer to think I was holding down the Alt key all the time (ugh).
