Laserfiche Client Folder Count, like Outlooks Inbox

posted on October 15, 2019

I have received a request from more than one customer and was wondering if anybody else has received the same request and thought of any ways of doing this, or a work around.

When they launch Laserfiche Client, they would like a folder count ie how many new invoices are in a folder since the last time they logged in or how many new documents in the Staff Folder, rather than getting x amount of email notifications informing them, they would just open Laserfiche and see that there are 12 new invoices in the Folder, or staff inbox.

ie:

This would be helpful for users and may be a future feature request that Laserfiche are aware of.

When you have a folder selected in the client, it shows the number of entries contained in that folder.

Here's what it looks like in the web client:

In the desktop client, it's in the lower left corner.

What i mean is a count of new files in a particular folder that has been added since the last time you used it.

IE: An administrator has 10 new Invoices to process in a particular folder. They looked at it yesterday, and they cleared out the invoices but QF has added 12 over night that need processing, so when they open Laserfiche the Invoices folder name would have Invoices (12) the brackets represents new Invoices added Overnight as a count for unread/unopened Documents. Separate to the count of the folder, as if they are to get 12 emails for each invoice this could get laborious.

I see, thank you for the additional context.

Can you elaborate on while they're looking for the count of the UNREAD invoices, rather than the total number of unprocessed ones? Is it common to open invoices but not finish processing them? What specifically does "processing" an invoice entail in this customer's process?

Would aggregated email notifications (e.g. just 1 email each morning stating how many new invoices there are) accomplish the same goal?
