Question

Overwriting Folders

asked on October 4, 2019

Hi!

Just need confirmation on this - I am assuming you can overwrite documents but not actual folders in your repository? Thank you.

Ok, that makes sense. You shouldn't be able to overwrite folders. You should be prompted with a name conflict and required to change the name of the second folder (that you're pasting into the location).

Could you clarify the scenario a little?

What process are you asking can overwrite folders/documents (i.e. Workflow, Forms, importing using LF Client, etc.).

Hi Dustin,

When I go to drop a folder into my record series and it has the same name; it will not allow me to overwrite it with the contents inside. Does that make sense? I know you can overwrite documents but whole folders with records inside of that?

Do you mean if you drag a folder in that has the same name as a folder in the repository already? Right, you are prompted for a new name to use in the repository.
