Question

Default annotation font size on documents appears to be extremely small

asked on October 3, 2019 Show version history

Hi Team,

One of our customer site has an issue with the annotation and to make it a bit harder, its quite inconsistent and all the users are affected by the issue .  Issue is that, the font size on annotation (text box) are extremely small by default on Laserfiche image viewer (image below). Everytime, user needs to change the font size in text box properties. On further investigation, if a document is dragged and dropped from an email , annotation works as it should. The behavior is displayed by all the documents which are imported using import agent. All the configuration looks normal (using pdf /generate pages).

Document Type: pdf

LF version : 10.3

Please let me know if anyone had similar issue and the resolution.

Thanks in advance.

You've checked their Text Box Properties?  I would triple check that their font sizes isn't stored as a 2 or something.

Yes, that's what I checked the first time. I believe this is something with the way import agent generates the pages for pdf. It works all right for pdf's dragged and dropped in (manual/from email)

Thank you.

It looks like the problem is with the size/resolution of the pages. Take a look in the lower right corner of the document viewer and you can see those numbers.

In your screenshot, you have a 2480 x 3512 image with 72 x 72 DPI

What that means, is that you're document would render as 34.4 (2480/72) inches wide by 48.8 (3512/72) inches high.

As a result, the problem isn't actually that your font is small, it is that your page is extremely large thereby making the standard font size appear small.

You may have noticed it with font on text annotations first, but this would also affect stamps making them appear smaller than usual when applied to the affected page(s).

The first thing I would check is the Import Agent profile to make sure the settings are not forcing a 72 DPI resolution on the generated pages, then go from there.

Modified laserfiche import agent generate pages for pdf settings and set it to 300dpi. It worked on local vm. Waiting for user response.

Thank you.
