Hi,
I have a large PDF document (100+ pages) that contains many bookmarks (around 30+). The bookmarks point to pages that contain maps.
The user who is responsible for creating this document will convert it into PDF and set the bookmarks. Then the PDF document will be published on a web-site for viewing by the public. Depending on the type of web browser used by the viewers, they may or may not be able to utilize the bookmarks feature (due to compatibility issues).
I am trying to utilize Laserfiche to bypass this limitation and present the information to the viewers in a different way. I want to create a workflow that would perform the following:
- Assign a template to the document once it is imported into specific folder in Laserfiche.
- Analyze the document, identify the bookmarks, and for each bookmark, create an annotation type (e.g. sticky note). The annotation type should have the same name as the bookmark.
- Save the document and move it into another folder designated for public access.
Then using Weblink, I want to make the document available for public viewing and give viewers the ability to navigate through it using the annotation panel that should show the annotations that have been created (i.e. the sticky notes).
This is a frequent activity, so it is important to minimize the manual tasks as much as possible in order to keep it simple and not time-consuming.
I am having issue with step 2 of the process. I am not sure how to instruct the workflow to search the document and identify the bookmarks. I would appreciate any help or if you have a better workaround then I would appreciate it. Thank you.
