Question

Upload/Copy a Process that includes a form to share

asked on September 18, 2019

So I am a Laserfiche user in one county I have a process that includes a standardized state form. One of my counterparts from another county would like for me to share the Process and accompanying Form. It is my understanding that I can import a Process and Form associated with that Process in XML. If this is accurate can someone tell me the procedure to go through to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance!

Wes

Go into Forms, select the manage tab, and select the Forms Process you wish to download. Then in the upper right corner, under the New Process tab, there is a download button. This downloads the process as an XML file that can be uploaded via the New Process button.

One thing to note is that exporting a form will get rid of any look ups when importing the form. It is important to document any look ups that are on the form so they can be shared as well. Usually we do this via a screen shot of the look ups.

If you are using 10.4 you will be presented a wizard when you upload the Forms Process where it will give the opportunity to connect to any Workflows or Databases used by the form. Much cleaner than previous forms versions. But taking a few snapshots of Field rules and Lookups is a good thing as Justin mentioned
