Web Link Repository Issue - Version 8 doesn't show, Version 10 does

asked on September 12, 2019

A client is running version 8 and they aren't able to see their repository in the browser. However, when they do it with version 10, they can see the repository at the same path that it doesn't show with version 8.

Can this be removed or fixed?

I don't really understand the question. You don't want your users to see the repository at the same path? What is "path" in this context - a url? A folder within the repository? What exactly are the differences between the setup where you get what you want and the one where you don't? Just installing a new version of WebLink on a new machine and pointing at the same repository? Is there also a server upgrade difference? Are they two different repositories?

So essentially, the client is trying to create a WebLink site and they don't want to see the repository in the WebLink in the browser.

The path I mentioned is a URL, correct. When a user goes to search for a repository with WebLink in a browser, version 8 returns nothing (which is correct), however if a user has version 10, it shows the repository (as shown below in the URL's).

Version 8: http://lfweb/Weblink/browse.aspx?dbid=0

Version 10: http://lfweb10/WebLink/Browse.aspx?id=2602713&dbid=0&repo=LCIMAGING

To my knowledge, the only difference in setup is the versions being used, which are versions 8 and 10.

They don't want users see the repository when they go to the URL with version 10; they want it unseen like it is with version 8. So your restated question is accurate: They don't want users to see the repository when using version 10.
