Design Tab Showing for Users with Business Manager Role in Forms

asked on September 12, 2019

According to the description of the Business Manager role in Forms: "The Business Manager can start processes; view, create, edit, and share reports; take snapshots; edit process instance names; cancel process instances; and complete and reassign tasks. Business managers cannot design processes or delete instances."

Currently when a user is assigned the Business Manager role the Design tab still shows for them. Can this be removed please? There is no reason to show it if they will never have permissions to use anything in it.

We base showing and hiding of the top navigation items on the user's license. If they are granted a full license, we show all tabs. If they have a Forms Participant license and could never access those tabs based on the license, we hide them.

We can put in a request to hide tabs based on global security roles instead of license type.

That would be preferred to hide or show top navigation based on roles instead. It is confusing to clients as to why they are seeing something that they will not use.

Just checking to see if any progress has been made on this request.  It is becoming more and more critical to limit visibility to certain functions / documents in Forms as our business expands.
