Briefcase security

As part of the Archiving process in Records Management, the record is exported in the Laserfiche Briefcase format. It seems that the security access is not retained within the briefcase? When the briefcase is restored to the repository, the previously set security access is no longer set.

I am trying to figure out a way to restore the briefcase but retain its security until the approved person gives access.

Briefcases don't contain security information. I believe the reason for this is that Briefcases are intended as a way to move data to or from different repositories. For many reasons, including security information when moving between repositories would introduce a lot of problems.

Could you import the briefcase into some kind of staging area, and then use Workflow to move the folder structure to it's final destination once the approvals have been completed?
