Feature Request - Forms - Out of Office / Availability button

posted on September 5, 2019 Show version history

Please consider the following feature request. This is especially important as we use Teams more for Task Assignment. When Employees are not available whether it be for vacation / Time off, it would be useful to have a feature like this especially when using Round Robin for Task distribution.

The User or Manager should have some form of Capability of taking a user out of the distribution list without having to remove/add them to the team or monitoring for task assigned to that person.

My suggestion would be to allow for the User to Mark themselves as unavailable with a simple toggle such as this

The setting of this toggle would also be reflected in the Team Management, where a manager would also be able to set this such as in the case of where an employee calls in sick, etc.

A feature such as this would be a big step forward as customers continue to ask about this to enable effective management of resources.

If you think this is a good idea, please like this post to highlight the importance of this to Laserfiche.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

We are currently collecting and researching this feature requests.

Is it sufficient for System admin to set user availability for unplanned leave (sick, etc.)?  or still want a team admin to do this in a specific team?

It really needs to be a Team Admin. It is not feasible for a System Admin to administer hundreds or thousands of users.

I agree with Blake. We don't give many people System Admin access.

100% in favor of this. We recently implemented a new Forms process to handle public document submissions and we've been taking in about 20,000 submission per month.

The workload is distributed between several teams depending on the type of submission, and right now the supervisors are manually assigning tasks to the clerks.

They're really interested in the round robin functionality to automate this, however, without a way to identify who is "available" we run the risk of assigning to an employee who is out of the office.

Perhaps with the Office 365 integrations it might be possible to have the option to automatically set someone as inactive when when they have something scheduled on their Outlook calendar.
