Question

Quick Fields Hide Tag

asked on August 29, 2019

Hello,

I am hoping this is a simple question someone can answer for me.  Does "Hide" tag in quick fields equal remove tag?

I recently discovered that a quick fields session that runs at night was removed all the tags from a document because I didn't have the keep existing tags checkbox checked under the Assign Tags tab of the Document Class options.

There is one tag that is set so the quick fields session picks it up.  I want that tag removed after it is run through the session.  But the document may have other tags on it that need to stay.  If I check the Hide box, does that mean it will remove that tag?

Thanks.

Hello,

I just wanted to add an update to this post.  Today I stumbled across this and found that it is possible to remove specific tags from a document using quick fields when you are using the Laserfiche Capture Engine.

I found it in Post-Processing in the scanner set up.  Add Action gives you an option to assign or remove tags.

Thanks.

It does not. Hiding a tag will remove it from the list of tags available for the user to manually assign to the document in the session.

In your case, you want to check the "keep existing tags..." box at the bottom of that dialog and check "retrieve tags" in the Document Content tab of Capture Engine's properties.

Except that I want it to remove one specific tag when it is done (Tag A).  But I don't want it to remove Tag B if it has been applied.

That sort of conditional assignment is a Workflow feature. Quick Fields can't do that. It can only add tags on top of the ones already on the document.
