Question

How to keep the cursor focused on the current file

asked on August 27, 2019 Show version history

How do we keep the cursor focused on the current document after viewing and saving the document?  After I opened a document and saved then closed the document viewer, the cursor loses focus on the file and I have to click and select the file again.  This only happens when we save the file or document.  Viewing the document without saving does not lose the cursor focus.  I do appreciate your feedback.  Thank you!

This is likely because the entry list is refreshing every time a change is made. The intent of that action is that if you are looking at a list of documents, and someone else makes a change, it will refresh and show you the change.

This feature is controlled by the following option.

Keep in mind that if you disable the option, you will need to manually refresh the current view (F5) in order to see any changes to the current list of entries.

I disabled the option to refresh automatically and it still the same - the cursor loses focus on the file.

Interestingly, in the 10.4 version of the client, I can't replicate this issue. If I follow your steps, the document remains selected in the document browser. I tested with both states of the above setting, and by manually hitting F5, and the previously selected document remains selected.

I'm using 10.3 version.  I would like to try to disable the sorting of the entry list but I can't find where to set or configure it.  Would you know how this can be done?  Thanks a lot!
