Question

From Workflow to LFForm

asked on August 26, 2019

Hi all,

Is it possible to run a Form in the web browser from a process?

From a Laserfiche Entry (and workflow),

I wish to load a Form with fields filled from metadata.

If yes, I need some helps about the Workflow's process. I don't know how to open my Web Browser with the right URL.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

You could retrieve Metadata from the template in the workflow or set from a DB look up, then set business process variables as this can launch forms from WF/BP, with the variables passed using this method, you can reference the Fields on your forms with the variables in your WF/BP. This will pre-populate the information on the form.

I have added a quick example on how to use this, the highlighted area is the Form.

First you add the form Variables, then you add your WF/BP Variables.

If you're expecting the user to see the form immediately after clicking the button to start a business process, that's not possible. As Anthony mentioned above, you can start the workflow and have it read field values and start a Forms process and populate the data. The Forms process can then assign the task to the user.

If you need the user to see the form from the document in the repository, you should look at Laserfiche Connector instead.

Hi all,

Thank you for your answers.

@Anthony I tried your solution but I don't really understand what it did.

I used a constant for my tests (no variables)

I tried to run "Flux de travail 1" but nothing.

@Miruna,

Your reasoning is correct!

I'm trying to see the form immediately after clicking the button to start a business process.

I'm going to check Laserfiche Connector.

Thank you.
