Question

Reference and present previously uploaded files on subsequent business process forms

asked on August 26, 2019

Client has a cloud based LF system.

We have a business process involving multiple forms and multiple file uploads.

Our initiator user will upload a baseline contract, which subsequent forms should present to the varying users as something they can download.

Basically, allowing them to review a contract that was just uploaded.

1. How to reference and present a link to an already uploaded file that exists as part of the business process?

2. How to include those documents as attachments when sending signed documents to external vendors?

Thanks!

If it's the same process, it should be pretty straightforward to use the same file upload field on multiple forms.  The form where it is originally uploaded would be an editable (and probably required) field.  On the forms where you just wanted the existing upload to be viewable, you would make the field read-only.  Then it'll appear as a link that the user can click, which downloads it.

I believe you should also be able to attach the document to an email activity in your process, similar to how you would include a copy of the submitted form or how you would reference field variables in the email.
