Question

Laserfiche Tab missing in Excel

asked on August 23, 2019

We are noticing the following on some machines:
Windows OS 10 and LF 10.4
Office Plugin works fine for Word and not excel 2010.

In Word, there is a Laserfiche tab with appropriate ribbon items.  Excel 2010 has no Laserfiche tab or ribbon items.  When an .XLSX or .XLS file is opened from the Web client, a blank Excel document is opened.

It’s a Lenovo Desktop with Windows 10 (latest updates) with Office 2010 and they are using Chrome.  They have tried reinstalling the Plugin and using Internet Explorer instead.

In the Event Viewer they get this error

Have you figured out what was going on here?  We are testing on 10.4 (currently on 10.2) and for some reason the Laserfiche tab in Word is missing, similar to what you have run into with Excel not having a tab.  Outlook and Excel have tabs on the new install, but after uninstalling and reinstalling Laserfiche and plugins (and rebooting between each change), I keep getting the same result (no tab in Word).  When I try to open a Word document from Laserfiche, I get the following error details:

The Laserfiche Office Integration has not been installed correctly, or is misconfigured. If you installed it while you had a Microsoft Office application open, try closing and re-opening that application.

   at Laserfiche.OfficePlugin.WebAccess.Monitor.WordProxy.DoWork(String command)

   at Laserfiche.OfficePlugin.WebAccess.Monitor.MonitorApp.Main(String[] args)

Please let me know if you found a solution.  Thank you, Kristy

Hi Kristy

Sorry as of yet no luck. I feel we will have to open a ticket with Support. Seem to be getting  a few problems with the plugins and 10.4

Hi Douglas, we figured out how to fix this today.  In Excel, go to your "Account Settings" (mine show when I click on my name at the top right hand side of screen), click "Options" then "Add Ons".  For some strange reason, Microsoft had disabled my Laserfiche Word Add on out of the blue.  Our IT department found that there was an additional add-in "Laserfiche.Officeplugin.Launcher" that was being set to disabled on my laptop.  They switched it's registry flag to always enabled, which is now preventing the plugin from being disabled on that machine.  They have added this to their group policy to try and force enable that plugin on all machines.  Hope this helps.

Hi Kristy

It could be my customer is having a different issue he checked and that plugin is flagged as enabled.  The issue is that the tab is not labelled ‘Laserfiche’ and all the ribbon items are blank.
