Question

Mobile login without fully qualified domain username?

asked on August 21, 2019

Is it possible to allow users to only enter their username instead of domain\username in the mobile app?

I have entered the domain prefix name into the Domain name field on the mobile config but you still must login with XX\username where XX is the domain prefix.

Hi Chad, this depends on the login protocol you configured for your users. Also, I'm not sure what you meant by "entered the domain prefix name into the Domain name field on the mobile config". The config page tells the system how to contact repository and forms servers. User authentication is separate from that logic.

thanks

There is a field here so that you can type the domain name in one time instead of every time from your mobile device. If you enter the domain name one time here, when you login you can omit it, or that was how it worked in LF 9, but now in 10 when you enter the domain name here, it does nothing.

Hi Chad, got it. The default domain name should still work if you are NOT using LFDS for mobile app sign-in. If you are on LFDS, we don't yet have this support yet. It is though on our backlog to be worked on.

Thank you,

Hui

Oh, I think this environment was using LFDS because they are Rio. So only Avante customers can be saved entering their domain name.

The thing is, if we can enter it one time, we save thousands of people from having to enter it every day on their mobile device. It saves thousands of hours over the year and it is one less credential in a world with too many credentials.

These days using a your mobile is like enter your username, enter your password, enter your domain, enter your key code, enter the letters you see on the screen, click on all the cats you see. It is no wonder people are seeing cats.

Hi Chad,

We are definitely looking into some enhancements in this area except the cats :) . Really appreciate your feedback!

Thanks

Any word on when setting up a default domain login will be available for those who are using LFDS to authenticate Forms/WebClient/WebLink/Mobile?
