FEATURE REQUEST - Forms Manage Page, Column for Sorting

posted on August 14, 2019 Show version history

I would like to have a column on the Manage Page that I could use to sort (or otherwise some how select) all of one department's forms.  I did try putting a short version of the department name at the beginning of all forms for awhile:

  • H&S - Inspection Report
  • H&S - Toolbox Meeting

But I found that increased the forms names (in and out of the repository) and did not work with our Naming Convention which we did not want to change to accommodate this.

Is there another way I could somehow tag any group of forms (for department, or user creation) and then be able to pull all of those up for review at one time?  The star doesn't work for this use.  I need to be able to switch to another group quickly.

Hey @████████ - the lack of an easy way to sort or filter forms across multiple processes (which could easily be achieved by the addition of filter and sort options on the Monitor page) led me to create a View that I added to our LFForms database, that basically mimics the Monitor page (except that it doesn't combine records for any task that is assigned to multiple users).  I then created a form in LFForms (that doesn't actually get submitted anywhere) that allows someone to search for a particular user, and returns all results from the view that match the search.  This way a team leader (for example) can search for all form tasks assigned to a member of their team, even the stuff not assigned through their team in Forms.

I also use this View for Workflows that send email reports to staff regarding past due tasks.

I'd be happy to share this View with you. smiley

Thanks, Matthew!  I'm always keeping my eyes open for easier ways to achieve my goals.  I wonder if we should get started with this by email?
