Using the Custom Query Workflow Activity against an Excel Document

Can the Custom Query activity be used to query against an Excel file or you can only use SQL queries?

I figured this out. I was not using the correct syntax and attempting to put the excel file name as well as the sheet name but I only needed the sheet name.
