Migrate Entries Fails "writing request entity body failed"

asked on August 7, 2019 Show version history

We have a WF implemented at one of our RIO clients that intakes documents from one central location, runs a workflow to figure out which LF server it should go to, and then we use the Replicate Entries activity to move it to their specific Laserfiche installation.  It's been in place for some time and working, but we get intermittent warnings stating "writing request entity body failed".  It's not all documents, it's not all the time, but it's happening increasingly more often and it interrupts their intake process.  Can anyone explain what this message means so that we can begin troubleshooting things?

There might be a better message in the Laserfiche Server's LOGS folder (under the repository path on disk).

Logs folder in the repository folder is empty.  Anything else to check?

Did you add a task error handler for this message? I'm not seeing this in our standard list of retryable errors. If so, you could remove the handler so it fails in order to give us a complete error message.

Nope, didn't make any custom error handlers.

Any other ideas or places to check?  We kind of have no where to go on this one without a valid understanding of the problem..

hello , did you get answer to your question? I'm having the same issue.

I just ran into this issue with a .jpg file - I suspect it has to do with the file formatting. I opened the file in Paint OK, saved it, and then it imported correctly. Obviously, you can't do that on a mass scale, but perhaps it provides a clue to the underlying issue.

Be aware that Paint saves images at 72DPI so it may have unintended consequences on printing and such.

Thanks Miruna - In this instance we are importing the file from Sharepoint into a Laserfiche document. We've had errors like this before, but the jpg images were corrupt in some way. This is the first one that we could open. I did not try to import the file again before saving it however. Sometimes things just don't work for some glitchy reason. If I see one of these again I'll try that first.

I am having the same issue.  Happens infrequently, but enough to be annoying.

Black Ice makes a great file conversion utility with a LOT of image processing capabilities.  We just used it to combine a series of single page images into multi-page tiff files (Don't ask why, it's dumb) and it can also turn Office files into tifs.

You could try using it to input .jpgs and then output .jpgs in the same format and see if that helps. You'd basically be using it as a kind of filter.

They have a trial for testing purposes.  It's called BI Batch Converter.
