Forms hyperlink field

asked on August 1, 2019

Hello,

I want to add a field to my form that a user can paste/type in a hyperlink.

This form is approved by someone who is sent an email when they are assigned with the form attached as a pdf.

I want the attached pdf to have the hyperlink field that the user inputs clickable.

Is this possible?

Does the approver see the same form, or is there a different version?

You can use custom HTML objects to put links on the form, the specifics of your process will determine what options are viable for turning the user input into a link.

The approver see's the form same form that the submitter fills out.

The submitter should be able to paste a link into a text field that the approver can then click.

If you're using 10.4 you can create hyperlinks in a Rich Text field, and it is likely that they would remain clickable in the PDF copy attached to the email.

If you're not on 10.4, then it isn't going to be that simple. When a user pastes content into a regular input (single line) or textarea (multi line) it is plain text.

In order for it to become a clickable link, it would need to be HTML. This is possible, but it is going to be more difficult if you're sending the approver exactly what the user submitted.
