Question

Accessed/modified date of file is earlier than date created

asked on August 1, 2019

Hi,

We have some electronic files that, when we download them to our computer (coming from the Repository), the accessed dates and modified dates are earlier than the date created. Any particular reason why this happens? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you're just downloading the electronic file, then that data is not generated by Laserfiche.

I've actually seen this a lot with Windows files and the reason is that the modified/accessed information was saved from the original but the created date is specifically for the new file.

Think of it like metadata fields on a Laserfiche document, if you copy the document you get a new created date, but the field values will all stay the same until you change them.

Thank you for the reply Jason, that makes good sense. However, this only happens to certain files, when we download other electronic files, like images, all those dates would be the same (accessed, modified and created). Will try to check it out some more, thanks again.
