Question

Links to Web Client Documents

asked on July 26, 2019

I created a link to a Web Client document.  It is working for me and a couple of others, but not for everyone.  They keep getting the the Web Client page with "Entry not found" as the message.

Those who can get in are getting the login page first, then it is redirected to the appropriate document.  This is what I want to happen.

The link is in Excel, but I have also tried it in other programs.  The same thing keeps happening.  Any ideas?

We thought perhaps a browser setting, but cannot seem to track it down.  When opening the link, those who can get in have the full address in the browser.  Those who cannot seem to have a shorten version of the link.  Why would it be changing?

It turns out that the links did not start with https, as they should have been.  I copied the links directly from Web Access, so I did not think to check that as a concern until today.  The problem has bee rectified.

I took out the server name and the repository name, but here it is.  The number is the document entry id.

Those who can get in see entire address in their browser.  Those who cannot only see http://servername/laserfiche/DocView.aspx?

This link below should work once you enter your servername and repositoryname.

http://servername/laserfiche/DocView.aspx?id=373866&dbid=0&repo=repositoryname

old link
db=repositoryname&docid=373866

New link
id=373866&dbid=0&repo=repositoryname

The links above work for certain people, too.  They will not work for those that were having trouble.
