Question

Should Users be Required to have "Edit" Rights Just to Provide "Viewer" Rights in Workflow

asked on July 22, 2019

Hi there,

In the Workflow Admin console, I added the Everyone group and restricted rights to each workflow to "no access."

Next I added an individual and tries to give them "viewer" only rights to a single workflow. They were unable to view the workflow. Next I gave the user "Editor" rights, which granted view and edit rights to the user.

Is it possible to give an individual just "Viewer" rights?

I'm using Designer 10.2 and LF 10.3

Ben, what is your use case for providing the access?

Hi Michelle,

The support team don't need Edit rights to identify common and documented issues. Also, they should be protected from accidentally modifying workflows. The customer has a dedicated Laserfiche team and release process, if any changes need to be made.

Ben,  understood.  We do not have such a team here (it's just me) so I was trying to figure out how setting access that way would be used.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Miruna,

"D:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Workflow 10.2\Laserfiche.Workflow.Service.exe"

is 10.2.0.216
