Our engineers are moving into LF. We have imported some test AutoCAD .dwg files. Users can simply click the files in LF (Windows client) and the file opens correctly for editing in the native application. However, when the user saves the drawing, it saves to a temp location, not back into the repository. Does anyone know if LF (or AutoDesk) can be configured to save .dwg files back directly into the LF repository as MS Office documents do?

I’m curious as well -it’d have to be a built in integration. I’m thinking maybe import agent might be an possible solution?

Hi Marcia, we do not currently have an integration built within an AutoCAD tool that would allow you to open from Laserfiche in the native application, edit the file in that native application and save directly back into Laserfiche.

Hi Denny, we do have this on our roadmap for late 2020 to investigate a direct integration, likely with AutoDesk, subject to changing priorities.

AutoDesk is what we use. We strongly support development of an integration for AutoDesk. It would buy us a lot of user support from a large department in our city.
