Question

Viewing JPG's in the WebLink Document Viewer

asked on July 16, 2019

Hello,

We have a client that is wondering if Laserfiche Weblink is capable of viewing jpg files in the document viewer rather than needing to click the download button to view it?

If pages are generated on the jpg file, it can be viewed just fine in the document viewer.

Otherwise, if there are no pages generated, one would have to click on the download button in order to view.

Using WebLink 10.1, also tested in WebLink 9.

weblink 9 - imaged jpeg in document viewer.jpg
weblink 9 - no document viewer.jpg
weblink 10.1 - no pages in document viewer.png

Hi Aharon

One option is to set up jpeg to generate Image files on import if that is not already happening.

In the client, open Options>New Documents>File Conversions and see if jpg and jpeg are in the list. If they are not, add them and then those file types will be converted automatically on import

Currently, all electronic files need to be downloaded to be viewed.  We do have plans to display image edocs in the page viewer, but no firm timeline on when that will be available.
