Document locked with a persistent lock. [9167]

Hi all,

We have a workflow, which assigns a value in a metadata field of a document.

However, in previous days the workflow is showing the following error when executing said action

The workflow tries the activity many times, but in the end it ends in error.

We look at the console level but the document does not seem to be blocked.

What can be the error?

The error says the document is checked out. The default wait period for 9167 errors is 6 hours since it usually means a user is working on the document. It looks like on your Workflow Server, that wait period was lowered to 5 minutes, so Workflow is failing a lot faster.

I understand the point, Miruna.

Now, is there any way to keep this as it is and have another possible solution so that the flow does not fall into error and therefore conclude in a "terminated" state?

You can increase the maximum retry limit in the advanced server options, but at some point you may still exceed the limit.

Is there any reason why you lowered it to 5 minutes and want to keep it there? It sounds like your users have the document checked out for more than 4 hours at a time (5 min times (default) 50 retries = 4h 10 min).
