Laserfiche Forms email task variables with spaces instead of "_" and how to list checkboxes

asked on July 10, 2019 Show version history

Trying to include these values with spaces (instead of "_") to emails, but the underscore is an eye sore! is there any other workaround in the meantime?  has anyone figured out a way on how to list "checked" choices from a checkbox list in emails?  the "list of all check" comes out separated by commas.  I would like the choices to be in a list going vertical. instead of: Choice_1, Choice_2, Choice_3

to:

choice_1

choice_2

choice_3

Hi Liza,

You can use Workflow to accomplish this. In the token dialog box you can apply a function to split on comma:

Is there a way to list the separated items back in the form to use the email step and show a list of any selections that were checked instead of string?  I tried using the Set Business Process Variables and it doesn't seem to work.

What if we also want to remove the underscores?  I need to have the values lined up underneath one another like in the image below, but must also have the underscores removed.  They don't look professional in the text of the email, or the word document we are generating with workflow.  Can you show me where to tell workflow to replace the _ with a space, while keeping the formatting that causes the list selections to appear one underneath the other?

Any help would be great, I have spent many hours trying to get rid of the underscores in Workflow.  It seems I can do one or the other, remove the _ or line up my list.  Is that the case?

With exteme desperation,

Christine

Hi Christine,

Try the following:

Create a token and split on underscore, and apply index with all values separated by a space

Then create a 2nd token, and split on comma and set all values separate by line break
