IMPORT Button in Web Client "Freezing" - non selective

asked on July 9, 2019

Hi there,

We have multiple users on both Chrome and Internet Explorer experiencing their IMPORT button "frozen", therefore not allowing them to IMPORT any documents in to the repository because it does not allow them to click on it. The interim solution is for them to close their browser, reopen and paste the link back in and re-try. However, this then results in too many sessions being active and then they get booted out of the system, so we have to go in and disconnect them.  Do you know why the IMPORT button would not allow a user to import. All access privileges remain the same. It works, then doesn't then re-works after opening and closing the browser. The picture attached shows it as active and working. I will take a screenshot when I have staff raise the issue with me again. Any possible solutions or explanations?

What version of Laserfiche are you running? It may be worth looking into upgrading your Laserfiche server if all users are experiencing this behavior.

Here is an update. I tried logging in with two different users, both the same settings, but the one user had the import button frozen, the other didn't.

So I provided the user with a separate login credential which initially worked, and after a certain time - about 10 minutes, the IMPORT button began to freeze. Now also myself just got the IMPORT freeze issue myself. Is there a timer or some sort, which locks out the IMPORT button?

Here is a picture of the IMPORT button frozen.

We found the issue........ but still need to resolve one thing...

It seems that one of our REQUIRED fields was not being filled in by DEFAULT. Sometimes it is default, sometimes it isn't default but BLANK. Does anyone know why that would take place?

When that required field is filled in, where does the value come from?  Is it a default value for the field, or does it come from somewhere else?

The default field is built into the template settings, and is listed there to be a default - in our case "Non-Record" - When dragging and dropping files through web client, the field will be defaulted, not requiring the user to have to click the field tab, but rather just click IMPORT....

However, we have been finding that not all drag and drop (same environment, same doc) does this happen too - sometimes the Document Status field will show blank (nothing selected) which is why the IMPORT button was not allowing you to select it. See attached photo of what it should look like. Once the field does not default again, I will take another photo and post the difference.
