Question

Volumes Auto unlock when Laserfiche Server Clustering

asked on July 9, 2019 Show version history

Hello,

We have a situation where we implemented Laserfiche Rio on Cluster (consist of two servers LFNode1 & LFNode2, and we had to encrypted volumes on with Volumes on all six repositories.

The issue is when one server "LFNode1" goes down and the second "LFnode2' is up, we must unlock volumes with encryption password every time. it becomes a headache task for IT team.

we can't remove the encryption features due to document confidentiality.

Is there a way to avoid the unlock volumes task every time Laserfiche servers are switched?  i.e can have a task to unlock it? set the two servers as a trusted machine for those volumes across whole repositories.

Note: Laserfiche Rio Version. 10.2

Hi Mohammed,

Laserfiche volume encryption is not to be used for live documents. Laserfiche volume encryption is only for volumes in transport or for detached volumes at rest.

If you want to encrypt live documents, you'll need to leverage a 3rd party option such as PGP or Veracrypt.

Hope this helps!
