fujitsu desktop scanner I believe 7160.

I can scan a doc, but the scan window locks. if I task-close the window and go in again, the image is there and LF asks if I want to save it. I can save it or not, but the next time I scan, it does the same thing. I can scan in paperstream/twain okay. it seems to be something in LF.  I tried setting up a new computer, installing scan drivers, then LF and does the same thing. I tried swapping with another scanner, same model, and it does the same thing.
