Enable Gridview in Weblink 10.1 Update 1

Hello,

 

I saw this post by Melanie on another Answer thread and wanted to know did this functionality get added to the WL Designer in 10.1 Update 1

Hey Blake,

To use grid view in the current release, you need to revert to the old search ASPX file, which is installed as Search9.aspx: see these instructions.  Then you just follow the same steps as you would have in 9.

We've developed a front end for easily switching the view (and inserting the grids on the newer pages); that'll be in the WebLink Designer in the next on-premises release and the next Cloud release.

Hi Jeff,

currently there aren't plans to make this available through the designer although we are tentatively planning to make this easier to enable in the next release.

We are having a lot of our public client that do not like the current view.  We converted from 9 to 10.1 and we had the grid view.  Will I need to follow the instructions given above to be able to achieve the grid view again?

Yes until the next available release this is the recommended approach

Hi Jeff, yes this is available in WebLink 10.2. To enable go to Designer > Search Results. There should be an 'Enable grid view' option available.

It is possible to enable to Gridview per search or is it all or nothing?

Hi Jeff,

you can enable it per page such as welcome page, search page, and custom search page. If you mean to say if you toggle it on/off on an existing search that is not currently supported. Could you clarify what you expect the behavior to be?

Hello Cecillia,

Customer has roughly 7-8 custom searches they have built and they only want to utilize gridview on a few of the searches.

What we found in WL 9, when we enabled it via customsearch.aspx file it broke some of the other searches.

We hoped updating to WL 10.2 this would allow for more granular gridview search availability.

Hi Jeff, If i am understanding your feature request correctly.. you want the ability to toggle back and forth between grid view and the classic search results view from the search pages? Would a toggle in the search pages suffice for this use case?
