Question

LFDS Grace Period & LF Forms using Single Sign-on

asked on June 17, 2019

Hi All,

Just a quick question:-

When LFDS goes down for whatever reason, you are allowed a 'grace period' where the rest of the LF suite will continue working for 7 days or 5 days or whatever it is.

What happens if you have single sign on configured for LF Forms using LFDSSTS? As in my testing as soon as LFDS goes down in this scenario, Forms stops working as you can't login without LFDS.

If this is 'as expected' please can I make a feature request to have the Forms suite in this scenario included in the 'grace period' somehow?

Forms is becoming more and more an integral part of 'the business', and in most cases is something the customer cannot live without!

Cheers!

The grace period is for licensing. When LFDS goes down, end applications cannot contact LFDS for licensing information and will enter the grace period in which they trust that LFDS will come back up soon. When it comes to single sign on, end applications must be able to reach LFDS, as LFDS is doing the authentication. There is no way to keep SSO working without LFDS being up.
