Question

Validate PDF Signatures in Web Client PDF Viewer

asked on June 13, 2019

Opening a signed PDF file in the Laserfiche desktop client will open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat.  Adobe will verify the signatures with a message indicating “Signed and all signatures are valid.”  Viewing the file in the Laserfiche web client PDF viewer, there is no message indicating if the signatures are valid.  The user must download the PDF and open it in Adobe Acrobat.

Is there anyway for the web client 10.3.1 PDF viewer to verify the signatures?  If not, can this be implemented in the future?

The web client uses the PDF.js library to do in-browser pdf display.  There is a long-standing open issue on that project to support digital signatures: https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues/1076

Hi Brian,

Is Laserfiche still looking at resolving this?

Will they make correction to this library... or... Is Laserfiche looking at using another library to help better support PDF signed documents?
