Rights to filter content in a Forms Report

asked on June 13, 2019

In Forms 10.2 a user with submitter rights (assigned at the group level) could filter a report they were assigned to by the start date.

In Forms 10.3 the same user with submitter rights cannot filter the assigned report at all.  It seems that I have to make that individual user a Business Manager on the forms business process in order to allow her to edit the filters and therefore get her date ranges.

Am I missing something that would allow the submitter user to remain at the submitter level (instead of making her a business manager) on the business process AND allow her to filter the instances by the date range she needs?

Looking for some thoughts here.  Thanks.

Anyone else have a similar issue in allowing users with the form Submitter role access to edit filters?

In Forms 10.3, all filtering was moved into the report definition and requires report editing rights to modify. The addition of the business manager role was intended to allow someone to have rights to modify a report without giving them full process admin rights. However, I see where this configuration would fall short in some cases, and that giving a submitter the business manager role might still be granting them too much access.

We can look to address this concern in an upcoming release by adding back the ability for viewers to add filters to process reports.

Jared,  I'm going to try the business manager role with this particular user to see how much she can get access to without causing too much havoc.  I think providing some basic filtering to submitters would be a good option for a future release.  I'll keep you updated.
