LFTwain-Laserfiche Scanning issue

asked on June 6, 2019 Show version history

Hello,

I am getting a Laserfiche error that is saying

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click Quit, the application will close immediately.    Value of '-1' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'."

Attached is a screenshot of this error. This error pops up when a user scans into certain folders and not all folders. I have tried to uninstall and then re-install laserfiche but this did not work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We've found this is most usually related to a user attribute. If it works for one user, but not another, then the user may have an invalid attribute. Clearing them out works in that case.

We are seeing the exact same issue.   We have uninstalled and reinstalled Laserfiche 10.4, uninstalled and reinstalled .Net, tested with different LF users.  Still get the error.  What is strange is that when creating a new file (it  works fine), but when and adding to an existing one the error pops up.  In fact, you don't even need to scan.  Just open the scanning and then try to close it, then the error is thrown.

Any ideas?

We also are having the same issue.  After the error they can continue to work, so they've just been working around it.  Any solution on this?

Is the scanner you are using on the supported scanner list?

Not all of them. We are using a Fujitzu fi-7700 and an Epson DS-6500 which are not on the list. We also are using a  Fijitzu 7160 which is on the list, but we have seen the message when using all of these scanners.  Plus, while 2 of the scanners are not on the list they were picked out to us by the Vendor to purchase for use with Laserfiche.

Hi Melissa,

My advice would be to raise a support case with your VAR/Laserfiche using the scanner on the supported scanner list as an example. Laserfiche will likely ask you to produce logs for the crash using ProcDump or something similar. You might be able to speed up a resolution by providing this in advance.

Details on how to use procdump are here - https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1012603/generating-memory-dumps

Other things to try, is things like temporarily disabled any anti-virus software to see if that is causing you issues, and try logging onto the affected machines as different windows users. Also try turning off UAC if you haven't done already.

Hope this helps!

Have you checked the Folder to see if it has a Volume assigned?

All folders have Default set as the Volume.  We are new to Laserfiche and it is currently the only volume we have.

I will try some of the other suggestions before putting in a ticket with Laserfiche.

Thank you!

Hello :)  So IF the scanner (Fi-6130)does not have a check under the TWAIN in the acceptable scanner list then what driver should we use?  Thanks!!
