Question

Comment does not show after User review step

asked on May 27, 2019

Hello,

I have a form that goes to a User review step. During this step, a comment box is available on each tab. If I type some text and then return the form to the first user who filled it for update, there are no more text on the comment box.

We need these comments, how can we save it ? Have I misunderstood the purpose of the Comment box ? I had a look on similar posts about Comments box in LF Answers, but people were more looking to hide it.

Thanks for your help. Picture of the process diagramm and comment box in the form attached if it can help.

The Comments box on the form is meant to be a means for passing comments to users for the next task.

They do not carry through to all tasks.

You can find the comments in the Action History in your Inbox:

An alternative to this is to add a new multi-line field to your form and carry it forward through the tasks.

Thank you for the clarification of the Comment box and the intended use.

I wanted to add comments on the form for each user who needs to approve can see the prior comments and add more comments for the next user.

What I ended up doing on the form was create a new multi-line field and labeled according the form version I created... i.e. Submitter Comments, Supervisor Comments, and Business Department Comments.  By creating these fields, the supervisor could see the submitter comments, and the business dept. could view both the submitter and supervisor comments.

I didn't want the generic comment box to be shown so my vendor sent me this link to hide the Comments box. We were concerned our users would get confused.
