LaserFiche Forms - Process Diagram - Error: The workflow for the service task returned back error: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel

asked on May 24, 2019

I am working in Forms Process Diagram screen and would like to call up a workflow after the user submits a form.  I have a Workflow Service Task configured with a valid Workflow name.  When I click on the checkbox to validate everything I get the following error:  The workflow for the service task named xxx returned back error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.".

I've double checked my workflow configuration and do not have any errors.  I'm using a wildcard SSL cert in IIS valid from GoDaddy.  My forms server and workflow server are installed together on the same machine.

I've searched this site and Google and have come up empty on ideas.

My problem was an embarrasing one.  Somehow I had a typo in the forms config variable for the workflow server.  I guess when I was going through the settings on that page for a different reason I hit a key and changed the domain name.  I fixed the typo and everything is fine now.

Did you by any chance disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1? Workflow requires additional configuration in that case. See this KB article.

Also make sure that the Workflow Server name specified in the Forms configuration page matches the name used in your certificate.

I double checked my TLS settings the KB you provided and I have everything configured correctly.   As for the Workflow server name matching the cert we are using a wildcard ssl so the server name will never match.

Right, but does it match the pattern specified by the certificate?
