How to Search For A Phrase Within Weblink?

asked on May 22, 2019

How do I search for a phrase or a sentence within Weblink?  I've used quotes, asterisks, parentheses.  And nothing works.  All I get back in the search are each separate word.

Are you searching as a string or encapsulating each word? Weblink should respond to the boolean "" operators. I've had no issues testing it on my platform, have you noted a difference between searching from your landing page and the quick search window?

Just a string of words.  Doesn't matter which text search you use.  All the search results that come back are for each word in the string.

Hi Paul,

You can search a phrase with the 'text' search type with 'terms' selected within the search page. As you suggested the phrase needs to be in quotes. Here's more info about full-text search syntax : https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/userguide/#../Subsystems/client_wa/Content/Search/Advanced/Full-Text.htm

If that still doesn't work the document may not have searchable text generated?
