Question

Question

Hide entire tab depending of single line data

asked on May 15, 2019

Hello,

I just started using Laserfiche form and one of my first form is a checklist. Depending of initial parameters (example : "Mirrors ?", answer Yes/No), some questions will not be asked (if Answer to Mirrors? is NO, user will not be asked the question is the tab named Mirrors). So far, I have a tab for each question.

I know we can use the Field rules to hide part of the tab. One first issue here is I have renamed the variables with more correct name, but I cannot rename the Custom HTML objects so I do not know which one to select when I add a new Field rule (I have a least 10 Custom HTML in the form).

Second issue is even if I manage to hide all the content of the tab, how can I hide the tab itself so the user does not have a blank form with Previous/Next buttons ?

I have attached some photo to make things more clear.

Thanks a lot of any help, happy to give more details or pictures if needed.

Veronique

Hi

I have a form that issues purchase orders with a total of 10 tabs.

In my case I have a field on every page that populates an iframe.

What I do is, if that field is empty, hide the section. The first of the pages has the Page Name "Supplier 1":

With a hidden single line field that is populated from Workflow:

With this field rule (Supplier 1 was never hidden, it starts at supplier 2 -don't get confused, same thing applies). The field rule shows the Page if the hidden field is not blank:

Under my "Pagination Settings" I can see the tabs names:

In short, in your field rules tab you should see the names of the pages if you scroll down.

Hope it helps!

Awesome!

What did you end up doing?

Did you find the solution on the field rules?

Yes, as you said the names of the pages were available in the field rules. I did not see it the first time I checked. Working well now, thanks !

Hello,

I ran into the same issue, I am not exactly sure what you mean by creating field on every page that populates an iframe. How do you do that?

Thank you!
