Question

Not seeing a place to make a workflow a user triggered business process

asked on May 15, 2019

On premise workflow allows users to make a workflow a business process that can be triggered by a user in the client. I do not see how to do this when setting up a workflow in the cloud product. Please advise if this is possible and how to do it. Thank you.

Laserfiche business processes are not currently available in Laserfiche Cloud.

Is this what you are looking for?

I signed into Laserfiche cloud, clicked on a folder and went to More -> Process:

Am I missing something here or is this what you are looking for?

Edit:

If this does not prove sufficient for you, you could always just create a template with one drop-down that has one option.

This option will start your Workflow and do whatever you want it to do.

I do this in multiple processes in my company since it proved easier to teach end users this method than how to start a BP from the client.

This looks to be regular Web Access not Laserfiche Cloud.

Thank you! We are currently doing just that, changing a field that will run the process on the folder. At the moment, the ability to manually start a business process is not available in the Laserfiche Cloud.

Does anyone know if a Cloud workflow can be user initiated yet?

I have a current on prem user migrating to Cloud but will really need this functionality. Any idea where it is on the roadmap? Thx

Hi @████████ - any update on this please? Is this coming in Cloud workflow? We would love the ability for a user to trigger a Workflow by clicking on a menu button please.

If possible - this should also be triggerable without having to select an entry. The use case is launching a workflow that runs an API Web Request to update a look-up table (so the user can trigger a refresh 'on request').

Thanks.

There are no plans to add this functionality in the near future. For your specific case, I would recommend using a schedule on your workflow.
