Question

Assign a task to field value on the form

asked on May 15, 2019

I am creating a form for an employee to submit. It will then assign a task to their supervisor to approve/Deny. When the Employee starts the form, I write their supervisor info to a Supervisor field on the form. In the User Task on the process flow, I select the users option, and select the supervisor field for the "User names" section. However, it does not assign the task to the value in the field. It just terminates. I am currently testing with my own ID so I know that I have a user account. I have tried values of UserID, Domain\UserID and full email. No matter what I choose it goes to terminate. Does anyone have any idea how I can get this to assign the task to a value on the form?

Thanks,

Mike

This should work if you set the variable to the username of the person you'd like to assign the task to. If you are using AD users, you could also try domain\username, and Forms participants need to use their emails.

Hi Mike

I believe I can help, can you provide a few screen shots please.

I would like to see the error and the value of the variable in the monitor screen at point of termination.

Thank you. This issue did turn out to be that I was using AD credentials for a Participant user. Once I put in the email, it worked fine. Thanks
