Public web access for Laserfiche Installation

asked on May 14, 2019

Hi There,

I have installed the entire laserfiche solution on my server. This server is labeled "GODBN-LAF-01" and everything on the installation points to this name, including all the web services.

My IT Team registered a public domain for me however it is completely different from the server name. Now when i am trying to access the LF software through the public IP I Get redirection issues. The we bought our license from says something about the software needing to be reconfigured. I don't understand this?

Do i need to follow a different setup from the setup guide when installing the software with the idea of having it accessible on a public portal?

Are you just trying to help your named users be able to access services without being inside your firewall, or are you trying to allow anonymous users on the Internet to access resources? If you want to allow access to anonymous users, you'll need the appropriate license from Laserfiche. They have one that allows you to open up repository documents to the public (publishing public records, for example) and another that allows anonymous users to submit to Laserfiche Forms (application forms, purchases, etc.).

No This will just be named users for now. The problem is that i don't even get to that point in the process. I will give more details below.

It's not uncommon for a users to access a server via a dns name that doesn't match the machine's hostname, and it's definitely a supported scenario.  Can you be more specific about what your redirection issues are?  A Fiddler capture of the attempt to access public portal would be helpful.

You can see when i hit the enter key it changes the public domain to the local domain. After i opened this question yesterday i uninstalled all the LF components except for LFDS. Then reinstalled all the applications again. All the applications seems to be fine now but forms still redirect as in the video. I can also not access the mobile site outside of our local domain network?
