Workflow times out

We have been having this intermittent issue for a while with not able to launch a business process from the repository. (Version 9.2 ) 

Today @ 2:05 PM in the error log viewer I saw the trace message that read; Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.cleanup_tracking_log_chuckName: @cutoff_dateType: DateTimeValue: 4/1/2019 9:00:00 AMName: @chunk_sizeType: Int32Value: 50 .

 

Subsequently after around 2:20PM, the user reported issues with triggering their business process, which normally resolves itself after logging back into the repository 5-10 minutes later.

 

Is this issue related to SQL overload?

The time in your message does not match the time of your timeout issue. Neither does the message.

The timeout does look related to SQL overload, possibly caused by the cleanup procedures running in the middle of the day. Check the "server timers" in the Workflow Admin Console and see when the database maintenance one is set to run.

It's probably best that you open a support case through your reseller.
