Error Message: Invalid stream- Importing a File to a new Volume

asked on May 1, 2019

Hello,

We have a customer who created a new Volume.

When they try to drag a document into a folder and assign that volume, they are getting the following error message:

Error Code: 9013
Error Message: Invalid stream.
Access denied. [9013]

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LFCommonDialogs103.dll (10.3.0.185):
    Call Stack: (Current)
        HandleFileImport
        CImport::ImportFile
    Call History:
           CImportInfo::get_GeneratePagesSelected
           CImportInfo::get_SignDocumentDontShowState
           CImportInfo::get_NameConflictOption
           CImportInfo::get_NameConflictDontShowState
           CImportInfo::get_FolderNameConflictOption
           CImportInfo::get_VersionComment
           CImportInfo::get_ImportProfile
           CImportInfo::get_ImportDocument

It is the same user, who created the volume that is trying to import the document.

This user is a member of a Administrator Repository Group that has full permissions to the folders, as well as Volume Security.

If they right-click and create a new document, using that volume, they are able to do so, but the strange thing is, they can't delete it, get the following error for that:

Error Code: 9013
Error Message: Access denied. [9013]

------------ Technical Details: ------------

LFSO:
    Call Stack: (Exception)
        LFSession::ProcessResponse
        LFSession::SendRequest (DELETE /+LF/entry/1298586)
        CLFDatabase::DeleteEntryByIDEx
    Additional Details:
        HRESULT: 0xc0042335 (LFSession::ProcessResponse, LFSession.cpp:3902)
         (LFSO/10.3.0.85)
LF.exe (10.3.1.479):
    Call Stack: (Exception)
        CFolderListCtrl::DeleteEntry
        CFolderListCtrl::OnFileDelete
    Additional Details:
        Exception: 0xc0042335 [9013] (Permission denied.) (CFolderListCtrl::DeleteEntry at FolderListCtrl.cpp:2137)
    Call History:
         GetRepositoryProperties
        CLFClientAutomation::ExecuteAutomationCommand (GetInstanceInfo)
        CLFClientAutomation::ExecuteAutomationCommand (GetWindows)
        CLFClientAutomation::ExecuteAutomationCommand (GetWindowInfo)
         GetRepositoryProperties
        CLFApp::GetAuditEventReason
        CFolderListCtrl::OnFileDelete
         CFolderListCtrl::DeleteEntry

They can rename the file, move it, but can't delete it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the user is missing a privilege or access right. Double check the user's effective rights on the volume:

Also check the event log on the LFS machine for errors:

If that doesn't help, please open a support case.

Hello Robert,

Thanks for the reply.

I have confirmed that the user has full permissions to that Volume, checking via Effective Rights.

How do you enable the Debug log in the ContentRepository-> Service folder.  All we see is Admin and Operational.

Thanks

Jeff Curtis
