Question

Checkbox with long text

asked on April 23, 2019

I have some check boxes with long text in the form and they are required. When it displays in the form, the asterix sign is not next to the text. How do I wrap the checkbox label so that asterix is next to the text please?

Thanks

Can you provide a screenshot of exactly what it is doing? That will help determine the type of CSS that would be needed to resolve the issue.

That is expected behavior consistent with the rest of the field types. The "required" asterix appears next to the field label, not the text/field itself.

If you want an asterix next to the text, you'll need to add one yourself. Just doing it with CSS would be problematic if your form is resizable.

Can you have the eligibility statement be a standalone custom html block with text, and then a checkbox that just says "I have read and acknowledge the above statement" (or something appropriate to your requirements)?

What Devin suggested is my usual approach

Hello,

We have the requirement to have each as separate check boxes that users has to check. Is there another way to have asterix next to check box please using custom html?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking, can you show a mock up of what you need?

I want the check box to be shown as above but with asterix next to check box instead of at top please.

Jason gave the answer as to why the asterisk appears there. If having separate "I've read and agree" check boxes for each statement will not work, then you need to move away from allowing Laserfiche to manage the required state of those check boxes.

You may even need to write the whole block in a Custom HTML field so that you can position your own red asterisk in the correct place. You'll also need to write your own validation to make sure that the user can not move on before checking the boxes.
