Form "from" email field | When Forms sends out notification emails, is it possible to change the "from" value specific to the user/group to which the Form belongs?

asked on April 12, 2019

When Forms sends out notification emails upon processing, is it possible to change the "from" value specific to the user/group to which the Form belongs?

By being able to change Forms "from" field to specific email addresses rather than having all of them use the same email address, when a customer, client, or user responds to the Forms-generated email, it will go to that specific group, and likely receive a more timely response rather than to a generic group that will then have to forward it to the correct group once they've sorted it out.

Is this a thing? Did I just miss how to configure that?

Thank you,

Rob

Hi Rob,

First--excellent name if I may say so myself! :)

To actually address your question: this is possible with User Tasks using JavaScript filters. More info here and here.

For Email Service Tasks, you would could handle this logic with an exclusive gateway, but depending on your particular configuration, this may be difficult to maintain. You might consider a using a hidden field to hold a user's email address returned by a lookup.

Best,

Rob

Thanks Rob (yes, it is a fabulous name, isn't it?) :)

I'll check that out, looking forward to seeing how it goes.
