Question

iCalendar Start and End Dates

asked on April 11, 2019

Hi everyone. I am new to Laserfiche and this is my first posting.

I have created a simple workflow that interrogates a form to create an iCal file as an email attachment. The iCal file attachment works well if I just specify a date - "Start Date" and "Last Date" - using business process variables from my Form and this create a whole day event in the recipient's calendar.

However, I want to create a time-limited event so I want to include the Date and Time from my form and I cannot see how to combine them within the "Edit iCalendar File" fields, Start date and End Date.

I tried variations of %(RetrieveBusinessProcessVariables_LastDate) %(RetrieveBusinessProcessVariables_ReturnTime) with no luck.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your guidance Jonathan and Miruna. The solution lay with the fact that the form/workflow handshake passed the date over in 12H time format, even though the form collected the data in 24H time format. So by reformatting the data with a token the time could then be locked in to the 24H format that the iCalendar was expecting.

Working well now.

Is there any documentation anywhere on the populating of these timestamp fields in Edit iCalendar File? I cannot find anything online; although I am a newbie and I may be missing the obvious.

Hi Adrian,

Is your time in 24hr format? I think that is the requirement with the time tokens.

The time is in 24H format on the form, Jonathan.

Does the activity error out?

Not that I can see - I just don't receive the attached iCal file. If I just include the date, the iCal file comes through fine.

Did you check the instance details?
